Smartboard is designed with privacy as a core principle. All data created within Smartboard (notes, tasks, drawings, etc.) is stored locally within your browser using the IndexedDB and LocalStorage APIs.

We do not operate any external servers to store, process, or sync your personal data. Your creations never leave your device.

2. No Tracking

We do not use any tracking scripts, analytics, or telemetry. We do not collect any usage data, IP addresses, or personal identifiable information.

3. External Services

Smartboard includes features that interact with third-party services only upon your explicit action:

• Search Widget: When you use the search bar, your query is sent directly to your selected search engine (Google, Bing, etc.) relative to their respective privacy policies.
• AI Shortcuts: Links to AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) are standard hyperlinks. Clicking them opens the respective website in a new tab.

4. Permissions

The extension requests the minimum necessary permissions to function:

• storage: To save your board data locally.
• unlimitedStorage: To ensure you don't run out of space for images and drawings.
